• Due to COVID 19 Pandemic, Whitfield is currently open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays during the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm.
  • Special Guidelines to Follow for visiting the grounds: 

     

    June 4th The Whitfield Wildlife Conservation Area grounds are reopening on a limited basis for visitors

     

    Starting June 4th the Whitfield Grounds are open Thursday thru Saturday 8 am to 4:30 pm.  This schedule will be in  effect until further notice. While visiting the area please follow these  practices

    ·         physical distancing of at least 6 feet with others

    ·         park cars 10 feet apart

    ·         Wear a mask if you need to speak with field staff

    ·         Use the hand wash station and portable restroom if needed

    ·         Please bring your own water for hydration and clothing for sun and wind exposure

    ·         Visit our website at www.valenciaswcd.org for updates and info about Valencia SWCD programs

    ·         Visit the Whitfield Education Program Facebook page for outdoor activities at home

    ·         Mulch is available for pick up during these open hours– on a first come first serve basis. (Note:   mulch is collected from various jobs and no warranty can be made about piece size or content of mulch)

     

     

    The District office ,visitor center,  and bathrooms will remain closed to public until further notice.  For visitors to the conservation area, a portable restroom with wash station will be available

****The Valencia Soil & Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors approved their calendar year 2020 Open Meetings Act Resolution for regular Board meeting times.  Meetings are held the 3rd Saturday monthly starting at 9 am.  Current agendas for upcoming meetings are posted on the website.  

 

Note:  COVID-19 management is still in effect and we will provide instructions for attendance at any upcoming virtual Board meetings.
