VSWCD Youth Corps Program

Valencia Soil and Water Conservation District has partnered with the New Mexico Youth Conservation Corps to hire 7 members, comprising one corps leader and 6 corps members. These young adults will contribute to the success of the Youth Program by generating employment, education, and training opportunities for individuals aged between 14 and 25. The program aims to support young adults interested in pursuing careers in wildlife conservation, habitat restoration, and/or resource management.

Youth Corps member will learn about

  • Ecology, Soil, and Wildlife Conservation
  • Wildland Fire Certificate
  • Tool care and Heading
  • Career Skills
  • Chain Saw Training
  • CPR
